Warmer, Drier And Healthier Winter For Dawn Robbie’s Family

When Dawn Robbie spoke up last year about the state of her infamous Papakura ‘swamp house’, she immediately caught the attention of well-established Kiwi company DVS.

Dawn’s daughter, Atamarie Taylor, who was then 11-months-old, had been admitted to the intensive care unit at Middlemore Hospital with bronchitis. Her illness is believed to have been caused by the damp house.

DVS Auckland Central Manager Phil Varley said the company wanted to help the family after reading in the news about the little girl contracting bronchitis not once but three times over that winter.

“No family should have to live in these conditions and fear for their child’s health,” he said.

Children under the age of four can develop severe side effects from such illness, and DVS knew straight away they could help. Even though the family recently moved into a new rental, DVS wanted to ensure this winter would be warmer, drier and healthier for them. The Kiwi company got in touch with Dawn and made arrangements to give the family a DVS Ventilation system in their new home.

Recognised by Asthma NZ and BRANZ Appraised, DVS Ventilations Systems remove damp, stale, moisture-laden air from the home and replace it with fresh, dry, filtered air.
